Robert Frank, The Wealth Report

Original Is Sandy Weill the Jimmy Carter of Banking?

Jimmy Carter, as the conventional wisdom has it, made a better ex-President than President. Perhaps the same could be said of Citigroup ex-chief Sandy Weill.

Can a crook become a philanthropist?

Weill is getting much-deserved blame for helping bring down a financial giant due to his own mismanagement. So what if he is all-of-the-sudden donating millions to worthy causes ... it's not his money.

... Or, maybe he's still a world-class [expletive] who is living a life of extreme luxury at the expense of millions of people he screwed. Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor. Sandy Weill pledged of $170 million of his hard-earned fortune to Weill Cornell Medical College in order to put his name on the facility.

Can a crook become a philanthropist? Sorry Sandy, you still deserve to swim with real (hungry) sharks.
